Between The Linesis a collection of art that explores the text on the surface and other layers of the idea of the script in contemporary Indian art. The exhibition featuring artists A. Balasubramaniam, Bhavna Sonawane, Dhasan, Jitish Kallat, Navjot Altaf, RM. Palaniappan, N.Prasanna Kumar, Rajeev Kumar and N.Ramachandran starts from Monday 6th January and runs through Wednesday 26th February 2014.

RM Palaniappan, being one of India's most competent print makers has over the years involved himself in jotting down ideas that went with his subject, making the script a small but integral part of his work.

Dhasan works with magazines and books, manipulating and coaxing forum with fold and pleats to create sculptures.

Rajeev Kumar a trained graphic artist takes sheer joy in controlling large spaces of his dramatic canvases with his mastery over the font.

Jitish Kallat has always worked at the layer of intellectual thought and has oven titled his work and made references to his ideas on the image itself. The words extended the communication beyond the pictorial space.

Prasanna Kumar, an alumni of the college of art Chennai, works with the written word in Braille in his installation that uses a passage from the Bible.

A Balasubramaniam reflects on the simplistic philosophy of life in his very esoteric rendering. In his serigraphs he places an self portrait of himself in the centre of action that the rhetoric that surround man.

N Ramachandran deals with the obvious as one is supposed to see and assume it. One often takes life for granted and needs to relook at reality.

Navjot Altaf working with found texts explores her personal mindscapes in her instllation.

Bhavna Sonawane plays with her lyrical, storytelling fabled landscapes bringing in real lyrics crating a pattern of the written word that contrasts and yet gets absorbed in her landscapes.
